2015 Spring Calendar for meetings and field trips

Further details of all 2015 field trips will be posted to the State College Bird Club listserv group.

Unless otherwise noted, all regular meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room in the Community Building in the Foxdale Village Retirement Community.

Details of local field trips will be announced on the scbirdcl e-mail list.

Program: Our guest speaker will be Bob Snyder who will give a program entitled Birds and Animals from South Africa and Mozambique. 

February 25, 2015 (Wednesday)
Regular Meeting

Program: Our guest speaker will be Kathleen Kolos who will give a program on Saw-whet Owls. 

March 25, 2015 (Wednesday)

Program: Our guest speaker will be Nick Bolgiano who will give a program on Distribution Changes for Red-tailed Hawks, Rough-legged Hawks, and American Kestrels in Eastern North America.

Program: Our guest speaker will be Katie Fallon who will give a program on the Cerulean Warbler

The May meeting will be a  potluck picnic at Shaver's creek.



Winter and Spring Field Trips:

March 15th (Sunday) 8:30am - 10:30am
Spring Creek Canyon walk mainly for those who with little or no birding experience, but all birders are welcome.
Meet: 8:30 am in the first parking lot at Fisherman's Paradise
Leader: Alyssia Church
Directions: About 1000 ft south of the Bellefonte I-99 Interchange, turn from Benner Pike (Rte 150) onto Paradise Road. Turn left onto Spring Creek Road. The first parking lot is on the right next to a bridge.

March 21st, 2015 (Saturday)
Bald Eagle State Park: Search for waterfowl and early spring migrants.
Meet: At the Milesburg McDonalds along Rte 150 (Eagle Valley Rd) at 8:00 am.

Walks are open to all ages with any level of experience. Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars.
In the case of heavy rain, the walk that morning will be cancelled.
