2011 Spring Calendar for meetings and field trips

Further details of all 2011 field trips will be posted to the State College Bird Club listserv group.

Unless otherwise noted, all regular meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room in the Community Building in the Foxdale Village Retirement Community.

Details of local field trips will be announced on the scbirdcl e-mail list.

Program: Our guest speaker will be Steve Feldstein who will give a program on birding in Israel.

February 23, 2011 (Wednesday)

Program: Our guest speakers will be Rob Criswell who will give a program called “Photographing
Wildlife”.

March 23, 2011 (Wednesday)

Program: Our guest speaker will be Wayne Laubscher – who will give a program called "A Week in
Costa Rica or (Stalking the Wild Quetzal)".

April 27, 2011 (Wednesday)

Program: Our guest speaker will be Emily Thomas who is a graduate student at Penn State and
she will give a program entitled the "Effects of Oil and Gas Development on Songbirds in the
Allegheny National Forest".

field trip for starting time and location to meet.

February 12, 2011 (Saturday)
Big Valley Trip – Search for open country raptors, and field birds such as Snow Buntings, Lapland Longspurs,
and Horned Larks. Check for Red-headed Woodpeckers at Plum Bottom Farm.
Leader: Greg Grove.

Evening field trip to search for Great Horned, Barred and Screech Owls.
